Although it is about to become a future star thanks to its neighbouring resort, Sochi, having been chosen for the Olympics, Krasaya Polyana remains a small unknown resort for the time being, with equipment that reminds us of the soviet era. However, what this resort lacks in modern chairlifts, it makes up in snow. In fact, Krasnaya gets a gold medal for “snow”. Here, more than anywhere else, quantity and quality go together. Every year there are metres and metres of powder, snow made humid by the neighbouring Black sea which makes it very stable. Enough to please any freerider lacking “white gold” back at home without having to empty their bank account.

Coincé entre le Manaslu et le Massif des Annapurna, au Népal, Chamjé Khola est un canyon à l’échelle himalayenne situé dans la vallée de la Maryangdhi. Après deux ans de préparation logistique, technique et physique, une équipe franco-népalaise de onze aventuriers, six porteurs et deux secouristes sont arrivés en trois semaines à bout de ce qui est désormais le canyon le plus difficile au monde. Deux jours de marche d’approche avec un col à presque 4300m d’altitude à passer en technique alpine, trois nuits en bivouac dans le canyon, une eau à 6°, un encaissement de 2000m, des cascades de plus de 150m, de très longues portions de nage et un engagement extrême.
